How do I layer my hair?

Ok so my mom cuts my hair but she doesn't know how to do layers, what's the best way to do it?How do I layer my hair?
It depends on how much layering you want. To keep it simple and not so easy for her to screw up, follow these directions (kinda hard to explain without showing)

Starting in the back, take a 1'; or so vertical section and comb the hair from the ';crown'; area straight up. In that combed area, the shortest hair is where she can start cutting. Her fingers should be parallel to the top of your head (if you sit up straight).

The back of that section is where the least gets cut and the middle of the crown is where the most gets cut. After doing that, add a small section of uncut hair and use the 1st as a guideline for the rest and go in circle from the top of your head (like an umbrella)

Just keep pulling everything straight up and cut the same from one area to the next. This should give you a some what layered cut.How do I layer my hair?
Professionally. Does your mom casually cut hair, or professionally, because if she's licensed, she should know.

Layering hair can be tricky, so spend a few extra dollars to get it done right in a salon or beauty school.
layering is best left for the pro's, it is more in the line of styling hair and since your mom isn't a hairdresser (i don't think), i would think the best possible solution is to go to a hairdressers.
if ur mom doesnt know how to do LAYERS, she shouldnt be cutting your hair. go to a haircutting place, like, PRONTO.
Layering hair is very difficult to do, it's best you get a professional hairdresser to do it.
WELL,

what ive tried doing is dividing my hair into sections

then cute them, top being shortest and bottom being longest.

Through cutting the sections, make the parts in the front shorter going down in a sort of point down the back.
ok well i must say i have tried to do it by myself and lets say not the best thing in the world :/ but i would get a proffesional to do it :P
