How many neurons on the hidden layer ?

I'm making an Artificial Intelligence project using a computer program. It's a modified perceptron type with one input layer, one hidden layer and one output layer. In the input layer I use about 10 neurons, in the output layer only one(real behaviour). I do not know how many to use in the hidden layer. Please give me a hint or complete answer. How many neurons on the hidden layer ?
Probably about 3 would make sense:

9 -%26gt; 3 -%26gt; 1

That way the perceptrons can be roughly the same all the way around.

It just seems easier and should give the most uniform results.

Have fun neural networking! How many neurons on the hidden layer ?
