See how the top layer of the hair is cut shorter than the bottom layer? That's what layered hair is.

This hair is NOT layered.

it means that your hair is of different lengths throughout

i have layers now, and what i would like to warn is that it makes your hair extremely wavy, because you get a curl at the end of each layer. so, don't get layers unless you are willing to straighten it (like the girl in the pic), or unless you are patient enough to let your hair grow out and then cut your hair to the shortest layer, when you get bored of having layers.

its a pain, but they are good looking on occasion.
